let’s all become androgynous with skins of precious metals, teeth of pearl, eyes of obsidian and mirror, bones of diamond, hair of light, and blood of pomegranate. only then will we be worth our weight. we will be valued. we will be loved.
“A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we’re pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other. No matter what else goes wrong around us, with that one person we’re safe in our own paradise. Our soulmate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of direction. When we’re two balloons, and together our direction is up, chances are we’ve found the right person. Our soulmate is the one who makes life come to life.”—Richard Bach (via kari-shma) (via quote-book) (via makeitcontagious)
Here it is: Jenna (my old best friend all through elementary school and early middle school) and I used to always just wander around her house and look through every drawer and look through every book in her computer room which is pretty much a library. The walls are lined with circular bookshelves. & her mother was a nurse so she had weird medicines and gauzes just laying around throughout the house. Well, one day we found a little tiny can filled with pale colored pills (or candies as we had thought) and we asked her mother what they were and she said that we could just eat them like candy. That they were harmless. & so we ate them constantly. They were just little light pink, green and blue Easter-egged colored pills and we downed them like M&M’s. & I still haven’t figured out what they were. Hmm.
Do you know why your ring finger is your ring finger? Because a vein in that finger connects to the largest artery in your heart. A vein in the finger your wedding ring goes on connects directly to the heart.
Take this pink ribbon off my eyes
And it’s no big surprise
Don’t you think I know
Exactly where I stand
This world is forcing me
To hold your hand
‘Cause I’m just a girl, little ‘ol me
Don’t let me out of your sight
I’m just a girl, all pretty and petite
So don’t let me have any rights
“That’s the thing about girls. Every time they do something pretty, even if they’re not much to look at, or even if they’re sort of stupid, you fall in love with them, and then you never know where the hell you are. Girls. Jesus Christ. They can drive you crazy. They really can.”—The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger (via fuckyeahliteraryquotes)
